On July 08, 2021 at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine a meeting of the Council of Rectors of Ukrainian medical schools took place. The meeting was headed by Viktor Liashko, the Minister of Health of Ukraine. Among the participants of this meeting were:
- Iryna Mykychak, the Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine;
- Tetiana Orabina, the Acting Director General of the Directorate for Medical Personnel, Education and Science at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;
- Oleh Sharov, the Director General of the Directorate for Higher and Vocational Pre-Higher Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;
- Olena Yeremenko, the Deputy Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance;
- Oksana Dmytriieva, a People's Deputy of Ukraine; and
- Lesia Oliinyk, the Director of the Testing Board at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
At this meeting, many important strategic issues have been discussed, problems and prospects of medical education development in Ukraine have been considered, the outcomes of the academic year 2020/2021 have been summed up, and the results of KROK Exams have been analyzed.
Additionally, the Head and the Secretary of the Council of Rectors have been elected at the meeting. Yurii Kolesnyk, the Rector of the Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, has been elected to the post of the Head of the Council of Rectors and Yurii Kuchyn, the Rector of the Bogomolets National Medical University, has been elected to the post of the Secretary of the Council of Rectors.
