Anti-epidemic measures during the administration of the Unified State Qualification Exam

According to Resolution №52 issued by the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine on September 03, 2020, a number of anti-epidemic measures were adopted for the administration of the Unified State Qualification Exam taken by the students majoring in the “22 Healthcare” branch of knowledge. These anti-epidemic measures will remain in place for the duration of the quarantine implemented due to the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The Resolution puts in place the following anti-epidemic measures:

  1. On the day of the Exam, it is forbidden to hold any other public gatherings in the schools, including skill-building sessions in the classrooms or laboratories, other tests and exams, public thesis defense, etc.
  2. The schools must determine the routes that can be used by the examinees to reach the classroom, where the Exam is to be held. The schools must also draw up a schedule, according to which the examinees will be admitted into the building, where the exam is to be held. The routes and the schedule must account for the time needed to measure the temperature of every examinee and prevent the examinees from forming a crowd.
  3. Before starting the Exam, the temperature screening of all Exam participants (examinees, Testing Board proctors, authorized representatives of the school) must be conducted:
    • The persons with the body temperature above 37.2 ºС or signs of respiratory infection cannot take part in the Exam.
    • If a student or an intern must be suspended from taking the Exam for health reasons, the proctor and the authorized representative of the school must draw up the relevant report.
  1. At the entrance into the building, where the Exam is to be held, the schools must organize hand sanitation stations, where one can clean his/her hands with alcohol-based antiseptics, containing no less than 60% isopropyl alcohol or over 70% ethyl alcohol:
    • The hand sanitation stations should be marked with a brightly colored and highly visible sign (banner, sticker, etc.), stressing the mandatory nature of hand sanitizing.
  1. Entrance into the building and participation in the Exam is allowed only while wearing a medical mask or a respirator:
    • Respirators can be used without replacement throughout the whole test.
    • Medical masks must be replaced at least every 3 hours or even sooner, if they become dirty or wet.
    • No accompanying persons are allowed on the school premises, unless they are accompanying examinees with disabilities that require support.
  1. The seats for the examinees are determined in advance, maintaining the distance of no less than 1.5 meters. One classroom can hold no more than 50 examinees.
    • Additional information (posters, banners) about the importance of respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette should be provided at the Exam administration sites.
    • During the Exam, it is recommended to keep the windows open (with the doors shut), if the weather allows it.
  1. Closing trash cans/containers for used masks must be placed at the school premises and marked with a bright and clearly visible sign “FOR USED MASKS AND GLOVES”.
